Chocolate Protein Mug Cake

by Scott Reid

Sometimes, even when your training is going well, it can be all too tempting to pop to the local shop and stock up on some chocolate bars, cakes and/or crisps. Well, stop before you get to the door and just make sure you have these few simple ingredients in your cupboards. This easy to make Mug Cake, made with whey protein, is a much better option than any of those naughty choices and takes a matter of minutes to whip up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop of Focus Performance Grass Fed Whey
  • 2 tablespoons of wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of unsweetened coco
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tablespoons of water or milk
  • and a little stevia to sweeten

Directions:

Mix the above ingredients in a large mug until you get a thick batter. Cover the mug with a plate if you want but if you don’t, keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t overflow). Microwave on a medium setting for 1:00-1:30mins; don’t let it get too dry.

Top with something if you want and then enjoy. If you time it right, the gooey texture of this cake makes it an awesome treat, with less of the guilt.
